See on App Store

TopEdge AI, listed on Shopify as TopEdge WhatsApp Cart Recovery, connects a Shopify store to the WhatsApp Business API. It is built by TopEdge Ai, a team based in Ahmedabad, India, and launched on the Shopify App Store on September 30, 2026. The app covers the order-related WhatsApp jobs that matter most in markets with a high share of cash-on-delivery (COD) orders: recovering abandoned checkouts, confirming COD orders, nudging buyers to pay in advance and sending shipping updates, plus a shared inbox for the replies. Its website is aimed squarely at Indian D2C brands.

Key features

  • Abandoned cart and checkout recovery through automated WhatsApp message sequences.
  • COD order confirmation, plus COD-to-prepaid journeys with branching flows (Growth and Scale).
  • Order confirmations, shipping alerts and delivery notifications.
  • Broadcast campaigns with Meta templates, and opt-in pop-ups and QR codes to build a consented contact list.
  • A visual flow builder, a shared inbox with Shopify order context, a CRM and lead scoring based on order and checkout data.
  • An AI chatbot that answers from your FAQs and policies; the listing names OpenAI and Google Gemini among its integrations.

Pricing and trial

The Shopify listing prices plans by order volume. Launch costs $19/month ($182/year) for 100 orders and 3,000 campaign and email sends per billing cycle. Growth costs $39/month ($374/year) for 800 orders and 15,000 sends, and unlocks branching journeys and COD-to-prepaid flows. Scale costs $65/month ($624/year) for 1,500 orders and 30,000 sends. Every plan has a 14-day free trial, and charges appear on the Shopify invoice in USD.

WhatsApp message fees are not included. The developer’s pricing page says Meta’s per-message rates are passed through with 0% markup. At volume that is cheaper than apps that add a margin, such as Dondy, but every marketing template sent still costs money. The same page lists rupee pricing for direct sign-ups (from ₹1,999/month plus 18% GST) and caps the trial at 20 orders and 200 sends. It also places COD-to-prepaid on the Launch card, while its own comparison table and the Shopify listing reserve it for Growth and Scale. Check what your plan includes on the approval screen.

Rating and reviews

On November 3, 2026, the Shopify listing showed no reviews. The displayed 0.0 means the app is unrated, not that merchants have rated it poorly. After about five weeks on the App Store, there is no review history from which to judge reliability or support. The developer’s website points to a handful of reviews on Trustpilot and Product Hunt and to several Indian stores; these are not Shopify-verified installs. This review is based on the listing and the developer’s published materials, not a hands-on installation.

Pitfalls

Watch the order caps. Each plan covers a fixed number of orders per billing cycle, and Launch stops at 100. The listing does not say what happens when a store goes over, so ask before a sale or a busy month. If you want COD-to-prepaid journeys, budget for Growth from the start.

Check the fit outside India. The website, templates and examples are built around Indian stores, with rupee pricing, GST invoices and UPI payments. COD confirmation is useful in any market where cash on delivery is common, but test how the prepaid payment link works with your own payment provider. The admin is in English only.

Review data access and consent. The app can read customer contact details, IP addresses, geolocation and browsing behavior, edit orders, products and discounts, and view Shopify Payments payouts. Its website describes a tracking pixel that matches live visitors to WhatsApp numbers. In the EU, check this against your cookie consent setup and collect an explicit WhatsApp opt-in before sending marketing messages; an email opt-in is not enough. The website also lists bring-your-own-key AI on every plan, so check whether AI replies run on your own OpenAI or Gemini account and what that costs.

Conclusion

TopEdge AI is worth a trial for Shopify stores with a meaningful share of cash-on-delivery orders that want cart recovery, COD confirmation and order updates in one inexpensive WhatsApp app. Order-based pricing and Meta fees passed through without markup are real strengths. Because the app launched in late September 2026 and has no merchant reviews, run one recovery flow and one COD flow through real orders during the 14-day trial before relying on it.
