Most Candy Rack offers add a different product to the order. Volume bundles solve a simpler case: the shopper already wants the product in front of them, and the best upsell is more of the same.

Volume bundles let you turn one product into a tiered "buy more, save more" offer. A shopper can choose one unit at full price, two with a smaller discount, or three with a larger one, directly on the product page. Candy Rack then adds the selected quantity and applies the matching price through cart and checkout.
What shoppers see
The offer appears as a new Bundle layout embedded on the product page. Each tier is a selectable row with the information the shopper needs to compare the options:
- Quantity, such as Buy 1, Buy 2, or Buy 3
- A title and optional subtitle, for example "4-week supply"
- Per-item and total prices
- The original per-item price when a discount applies
- An automatically calculated Save $X badge
- Optional custom badges, such as "500g" or "Best value"
You choose which tier is selected when the page loads. When the shopper switches tiers, the prices, saving, and selected state update immediately. The product's regular Add to cart button then adds the quantity from that tier, so the offer stays inside the store's normal product-page flow.

If the product has variants, you can also enable per-item variants. A shopper buying three T-shirts, for example, can choose a different size or color for each unit before adding the bundle. The offer is still limited to one product, but the units do not all have to use the same variant.
How to set up a volume bundle
- Open Candy Rack and create a new offer.
- Under Placement, choose Product page, Embedded block, and Bundle layout.
- Choose whether the offer displays for all products, specific products, or specific collections.
- Add your tiers. Set the quantity, title, subtitle, pricing, price fields, and badges for each one.
- Choose the tier that should be selected by default.
- Turn on Enable per-item variants if shoppers should be able to choose a variant for every unit.
- Save the offer, open the theme editor, and add or position the Bundle layout block.
- Test each tier on the storefront through checkout before publishing the offer to all shoppers.
That last test matters. The admin preview is useful for copy and layout, but the storefront is where you can verify variant availability, theme spacing, cart behavior, and the final discount.
Match the bundle to your theme
The theme editor controls the storefront presentation. You can change the title and unavailable-variant message, adjust font sizes and corner radius, and set colors for the active tier, background, text, and errors. Top and bottom padding are configurable as well.

You can also show or hide the checkbox, link the block to specific offer IDs, or exclude selected offers. A custom CSS field is available for changes that are not covered by the standard settings.
Combine bundles with other placements
The Bundle layout does not make the product exclusive to volume bundles. It controls the quantity offer on the product page, while other Candy Rack offers can remain active for the same trigger product and elsewhere in the customer journey.
You can run a volume bundle alongside:
- A product-page pop-up shown after the shopper clicks Add to cart
- Other product-page embedded blocks, including checkbox and button offers
- Slide cart and cart offers
- Checkout and post-purchase offers, where the store and offer are otherwise eligible
This lets a shopper choose a larger quantity of the main product and still receive a complementary-product upsell. Each offer keeps its own placement and logic, while Candy Rack handles the selected bundle quantity and discount separately.
Why we built it
Quantity breaks are one of the most direct ways to increase items per order. They do not ask the shopper to discover a second product or understand a complicated kit. The decision is simply whether a better per-unit price is worth buying more now.
The trade-off is equally clear for the merchant: you give up some margin per unit in exchange for a larger order. Candy Rack now gives you the controls to structure that trade-off, present it clearly, and track the resulting views, add-to-cart events, products sold, and sales in the existing analytics.
Volume bundles are live in Candy Rack today. If you already use the app, create a new offer and look for Bundle layout under the product-page embedded blocks. If you are new to Candy Rack, you can install it from the Shopify App Store.
