Premium at $5.99/month ($59.90/year) adds all gallery media, variant image support, the Sticky Cart and image protection. Business at $10.99/month ($109.90/year) adds masonry layouts, the before/after slider, Amazon-style progressive zoom, priority support and removal of the app’s branding. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial.
The plan descriptions overlap: the free plan lists pinch and zoom on one image at a time, while mobile pinch zoom appears as a Standard feature, so check on a phone what the free plan actually gives your shoppers. Branding removal is listed only on Business. The plans and prices have also changed more than once in 2026, so confirm the price on Shopify’s approval screen before upgrading.
Rating and reviews
Super Pinch & Zoom has 4.9 from 26 Shopify reviews: 24 five-star, one three-star and one one-star. Merchants mention quick installation, a modern lightbox (one store calls it what it had long been looking for on the Dawn theme), the replacement of a full-screen zoom that hurt image quality, and hands-on support. Several reviewers say the team customized the mobile zoom for them or set the app up itself, and a September 2026 review says the free plan is enough in most cases. Both critical reviews date from 2024: a one-star review from a store that said the app did not work and it got no support, to which the developer replied that the store’s theme was not supported, and a three-star review noting that support response times vary.
Read the rating with some caution. Eleven reviews date from 2021–2022, before the current feature set; eleven were posted within a day of installing, and four have no text.
Pitfalls
Theme compatibility is the main risk. The developer’s original FAQ asks you to turn off your theme’s built-in image zoom before enabling the app embed, and to contact support if zoom does not work after upgrading so the team can configure it in your theme. Many positive reviews describe exactly this kind of manual help. Install the app on a duplicate theme first and share a theme preview link with your team to check product pages on desktop and real phones. If you change your theme later, re-enable the app embed and test again.
Watch for overlapping features. If your theme already offers zoom or a sticky add-to-cart bar, running both can create duplicate controls. Zoom also only shows the detail present in the uploaded photo, so upload high-resolution images; Shopify recommends 2048 × 2048 px for square product images.
