Consentik

Built for Shopify cookie consent banner with Google Consent Mode v2 on the free plan, consent logs, IAB TCF v2.3 and an EU withdrawal form.

See on App Store

Consentik, listed in the Shopify App Store as Consentik GDPR Cookie Banner, is a Built for Shopify cookie consent app that shows a consent banner, records what each shopper agreed to, and passes those signals on to Google, Meta, TikTok and Microsoft. It has been on the App Store since March 2018 and comes from Consentik, part of the Hanoi-based Omega app studio. Two things separate it from the rest of the category: Google Consent Mode v2 in advanced mode is included on the free plan, which most rivals charge for, and the paid tiers add an EU withdrawal form for the Article 11a rules that took effect on 19 June 2026.

Key Features

  • Cookie banner and preferences popup: Built-in templates, flexible layouts, a glass effect and custom CSS, plus a quick category selector so shoppers can accept or reject cookies by purpose instead of all at once. Geolocation shows the right banner to EU, UK and US visitors.
  • Google Consent Mode v2 in advanced mode: Included on the free plan, with the gcd parameter Google uses to model conversions. Microsoft UET Consent Mode arrives on Advanced, the GPC signal and Shopify Web Pixel on Plus, and IAB TCF v2.3 plus Google Additional Consent on Unlimited.
  • Cookie scanner: Automatic scanning on every plan including the free one, automatic sorting of the cookies it finds into necessary, performance, analytics and marketing categories from Plus upwards, scheduled rescans on Advanced, and scanning behind a store password on Unlimited.
  • Script blocking before consent: From Plus upwards the app holds back Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel until a shopper consents, using a snippet you add to your theme.
  • Consent logs and data requests: From Plus upwards every consent is stored with email, IP address, timestamp and the categories accepted, and exports to Excel. A configurable data rights page lets customers submit access, correction and deletion requests.
  • EU withdrawal form: On Advanced, a popup form (name, email, order ID) that needs no customer login, with automatic confirmation emails and a dashboard that tracks each request against its 14-day deadline.

Pricing and Trial Information

Consentik is one of the cheaper apps in its category. The free plan covers the banner, the preferences popup, geolocation, cookie scanning and Google Consent Mode v2. Plus at $6.99 a month adds script blocking, consent logs, data request management, the GPC signal and two banner languages. Advanced at $11.99 adds the EU withdrawal form, Microsoft UET Consent Mode, scheduled scans, five languages and a checkout banner. Unlimited at $20.99 adds IAB TCF v2.3, unlimited languages with Google Translate, headless storefront support and cross-domain consent sharing. Annual billing saves 17% on every tier and all three paid plans include a 7-day free trial. Two gates are worth checking before you commit: the checkout banner needs Advanced and a Shopify Plus store, and IAB TCF is only on the top tier.

Rating and Reviews

Consentik holds 4.9 stars from 262 reviews on the Shopify App Store, 250 of them at five stars and only four below three. What stands out reading through them is how many merchants are reviewing the support rather than the software: they name individual agents, describe live chat sessions and video calls that got the banner working, and mention replies at weekends. The second recurring theme is Google Consent Mode v2, which is what moved a lot of 2024 and 2025 reviewers off other apps, several noting they had been paying elsewhere for what Consentik includes for free. Merchants also single out the CSS control for matching a minimal theme, and the price. The developer replies to almost every review, including the critical ones.

Pitfalls

Script blocking is the biggest practical caveat. It is not automatic: you pick from a fixed list of four services, the app generates a snippet, and you paste it into your theme yourself. Nothing discovers the scripts already running on your store, so chat widgets, heatmaps and affiliate tags need separate manual work. Translations are manual too, with Google Translate reserved for the top tier and no integration with Shopify Markets or store locales. The EU withdrawal form does not check order IDs against Shopify, does not issue the refund and runs in one language, so a multi-market EU store gets a form and an audit log rather than a finished process. Reliability deserves a mention as well: a merchant of about a year reported in March 2026 that the banner silently stopped appearing for more than two weeks and later began marking every visitor as declined, and that billing continued after refunds had been promised. The developer acknowledged both problems and processed the refunds. That is one review out of 262, but silent failure matters more in a compliance app than in most. Finally, the public changelog has not been updated since November 2024, the documentation pricing table contradicts the App Store listing on which tier includes Consent Mode v2, and at 262 reviews the app has a much shorter track record than Pandectes or Consentmo.

Conclusion

Consentik is the best value in Shopify cookie consent if what you need is a clean, customizable banner and correct Google Consent Mode v2 signals, because you get both for nothing and the first paid tier is under $7. It is a Google-certified CMP partner at Silver tier and an IAB TCF approved CMP, and the sheer volume of support praise in its reviews suggests the team will walk you through setup, which matters given the manual steps involved. Look elsewhere if you need IAB TCF without paying for the top tier, a checkout banner on a store that is not Shopify Plus, many banner languages, or script blocking that finds and gates your existing tags without a theme edit. Otherwise the free plan is a low-risk way to test it on your own store first.

Pros

Google Consent Mode v2 in advanced mode is included on the free plan, which most competitors charge for.

Cheap paid tiers starting at $6.99 a month, with 17% off annual billing and a 7-day free trial.

Built for Shopify, a Google-certified CMP partner at Silver tier and an IAB TCF v2.3 approved CMP (ID 451).

Cookie scanning is available on every plan, including the free one.

Consent logs record email, IP address, timestamp and categories accepted, and export to Excel.

EU withdrawal form for Directive (EU) 2023/2673 on the Advanced plan, with 14-day deadline tracking and export.

Live chat support that reviewers repeatedly describe as fast and hands-on, including help with the initial setup.

cons

Script blocking is not automatic: it covers a fixed list of four services and needs a snippet pasted into your theme.

Features many EU stores need are spread across tiers, with IAB TCF v2.3 on the top plan only and the checkout banner requiring Advanced plus Shopify Plus.

Banner translations are manual, Google Translate is limited to the top tier, and there is no Shopify Markets or locales integration.

The EU withdrawal form does not verify order IDs, does not issue the refund and runs in a single language.

One 2026 review reports the banner silently stopping twice and billing continuing after promised refunds, which the developer acknowledged.

The public changelog has not been updated since November 2024, and the documentation contradicts the listing on tier gating.

Smaller review base than Pandectes or Consentmo, and no ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification is claimed.
