Most migration projects we take on start on another platform. Purity Vision, a Czech brand of organic and natural cosmetics, came to us with part of its store already running on Shopify. That should have made things easier. It didn't.

When the right recommendation is to start over
The technical audit came first, and its conclusion was uncomfortable but clear: close the existing setup and rebuild from scratch. The deciding factor was the integration with K2, the ERP that runs Purity Vision's back office. The existing connection had lost the client's trust entirely, and an ERP integration carries products, prices, stock, and orders, everything the team relies on daily. Rebuilding meant we could integrate against the latest version of K2 and design the whole store around that connection from day one. Understandably, expectations for the second attempt were high: delivery quality, integration stability, and full feature coverage.
"The same, but better"
That phrase became the working brief: keep everything that worked, improve what didn't. A modern redesign, cleaner UX, extensive conversion optimization, and a proper SEO migration (redirect map, pre-launch audit, Search Console checks for two months after launch) so the rebuild wouldn't cost the brand its organic traffic.

We started with the Slovak store, which carried a small share of revenue, and let the new K2 integration prove itself on real orders first. Products, prices, stock, and the category tree sync from K2 daily; orders flow back in real time, with fulfillment status and tracking numbers returning automatically. Every sync is logged, failed operations retry on their own, and monitoring alerts us to incidents. Once everything held up in production, we duplicated the setup to the main Czech store. A year later the same foundation carried a third store, purityvision.com, for international markets.

The ERP shaped the storefront too. Products arrive from K2 as standalone items, so we built a custom variant selector that links them through metafields. Gift selection runs directly in the cart, a "build your own cosmetics routine" builder helps customers compose a full skincare routine, and Candy Rack offers relevant cross-sells on product pages.
Beyond the storefront
We integrated Daktela, an omnichannel platform Purity Vision uses for customer communication, and connected Leadhub for personalized marketing automation. We also recommended moving to Shopify Plus: with three ERP-driven storefronts, the higher plan pays for itself in process improvements, and it let us build directly into checkout, from a custom extension handling the cash-on-delivery fee to pick-up point selection. Sarah Malíková, Purity Vision's e-commerce manager, put it this way:
"The collaboration was pleasant, fast, and highly professional. Moving to Shopify Plus, on your recommendation, was a significant shift that improved our processes. We appreciate the proactive approach, attention to detail, and clear explanations."
What this says about second implementations
A shaky first Shopify implementation doesn't mean the platform was the wrong choice. In our experience it means the hard part, usually the ERP integration, was underestimated. We saw the same pattern with Econea, where pairing Shopify with the client's processes was the core of the project. The full details, including the numbers, are in the Purity Vision case study.
