Hextom: Free Shipping Bar has been on Shopify since 2015 and carries the Built for Shopify badge. It turns your free shipping threshold into a progressive message that updates as shoppers add items, ending with a congratulation once they qualify.
Key features
- Progressive messages that update with the cart value, plus a message when the goal is reached.
- Targeting by country and Shopify Markets, customer, page, product and device.
- Automatic currency detection and conversion of the threshold amount.
- Scheduling, background images, performance tracking and an admin in ten languages.
Pricing and trial
The Shopify listing shows a free Basic plan with a customizable bar, any position, page and device targeting, a link and emoji support. Premium costs $9.99/month or $99/year and adds unlimited active bars, geo targeting with Shopify Markets, automatic currency conversion, background images, scheduling and performance tracking, with a 7-day free trial.
Rating and reviews
The app has 4.9 from 3,050 Shopify reviews, the most in this roundup, with 92% five-star. Merchants value the simple setup, multi-market configuration and support that helps place the bar inside cart drawers. Older critical reviews mention theme conflicts and missing support replies. The most serious, from August 2026, claims checkout redirected to a third-party page until the app was uninstalled; no developer reply was shown and we found no other reports of this, but it is a reason to test your checkout after installing any storefront app.
Pitfalls
One merchant noted that functionality is very limited without paying: country-specific thresholds, currency conversion and multiple bars all need Premium. The bar only states your offer; the threshold itself is set in Shopify's shipping settings, so keep the two in sync when you change rates. Check that it does not clash with your theme's own announcement bar.
Conclusion
Hextom Free Shipping Bar is the specialist choice for announcing free shipping thresholds, especially for stores selling into several markets.
