Key features
- Sticky, rotating, sliding and marquee bars, placed as a top bar or as a theme section.
- Pre-made styles, icons (including your own uploads) and full color and font control.
- Cart page bars, scheduling, geolocation targeting and translations on the Essential plan.
- A light data footprint: products, theme and locales, with no customer or order data.
Pricing and trial
Plans are based on monthly bar views. The Shopify listing shows Free for up to 2,000 monthly views with unlimited simple and rotating bars, Starter at $6.99/month (20,000 views, running-line bars and icons), Essential at $9.99/month (50,000 views, cart bars, scheduling, geolocation and translations) and Professional at $29.99/month (unlimited views). Paid plans have a 7-day free trial, and annual billing saves 20%.
Rating and reviews
Essential Announcement Bar has 5.0 from 1,314 Shopify reviews, with only two one-star and four three-star ratings. Merchants praise the design options and fast support, which often helps with theme conflicts and small code changes. The most serious complaint, from April 2026, describes support editing a live sales page through collaborator access just before a launch and leaving it broken; the developer replied that it was making a requested change and was unaware of parallel edits to the same page.
Pitfalls
The free plan's 2,000 views a month will run out quickly on a store with steady traffic, and scheduling and geo targeting require at least $9.99/month. If support needs collaborator access to adjust your theme, agree on the scope and timing first and avoid granting it right before a campaign goes live.
Conclusion
Essential Announcement Bar is a strong choice for stores that want attractive, flexible bars with minimal setup and data access. Estimate your monthly views before choosing a plan. For countdown-style urgency from the same developer, see Essential Countdown Timer Bar.
