We are pleased to share the latest evolution of our app, Candy Rack. As many of you know, our goal has always been to provide a simple and effective upselling solution for Shopify. But to truly refine your strategy, you need more than just great offers; you need meaningful data.

That’s why we’ve updated the analytics section. The new dashboard focuses on the metrics that help you understand your store’s growth and make thoughtful decisions for your business.
Understanding the value of your data
The redesigned interface provides a comprehensive overview of how your upsell strategy is impacting your store. We believe that by looking at these metrics, you can move away from guesswork and focus on what your customers actually respond to.
- Incremental sales: This shows you the revenue generated directly by Candy Rack offers. It is the most straightforward way to see the added value the app brings to your store.
- Total sales: This metric provides a helpful comparison between the value of your total sales without any upsells and the total revenue including those upsells. This helps you visualize the overall impact on your bottom line.
- Total orders: You can now see the total number of orders that did not include any upsell offers compared to the total number of orders that contained at least one sold upsell.
- Average order value (AOV): One of the most helpful parts of this update is the ability to compare two different AOV figures. You can see the average value of orders that do not contain any upsells versus the AOV of orders that do. This comparison illustrates how much your offers are helping to increase your basket size.
- Placement performance: You can now see which specific locations, such as the product page, slide cart, or post-purchase, are driving the most conversions. This helps you identify where your customers are most likely to accept an offer.
- Offers performance and top offered products: These rankings let you see which specific offers and products are your strongest performers. This insight is helpful when deciding which items to feature in future campaigns.
- Views: This counts how many times your offers were displayed, helping you understand the reach of your upsells across different pages.
Making informed decisions
By regularly reviewing these insights, you can create a more balanced and effective upselling strategy. For example, if you notice that a specific placement has high views but low conversions, you might consider adjusting the offer to be more relevant to that stage of the customer journey.
Similarly, seeing the difference in AOV and total order volume between standard orders and upsell orders can help you decide which types of products are best suited for cross-selling.
