Gift Box is an advanced app for Shopify businesses allowing them to control the free gifts strategy. Free gifts are a great tactic on how to motivate customers to spend more in order to receive something extra. There aren’t many solid apps on the Shopify App Store which would allow this. That’s why we have decided to come up with Gift Box.
Same as with our other apps, we have prioritized design and UX. So the app interface (both admin and frontend) are designed in a beautiful yet effective way. The best use of Gift Box is to set up multiple tier gifts so you motivate your customers to always spend more. You can reward them with free products, services (i.e. gift wrap) or shipping. We recommend having 2 or 3 tiers.
What the App Can Do
Using Gift Box you can create free gifts for your customers. They will receive a gift when the specified threshold (i.e. their spend) is reached. You can select from multiple gift types which can be divided into three main categories – free product(s), free service or free shipping.
If the minimum amount is met, the free gift is automatically added to the customer’s order when checking out. It’s not added to the cart as we couldn’t figure a reliable way how to work with drawer carts and different Shopify themes. To add the free gift we are using so-called draft orders which means the app is not compatible with custom checkouts (incl. PayPal Express). Also, customers are not able to use discount coupons when they are getting a free product. But this was the most reliable and smooth way how to design the app logic.
How Much Does It Cost
Gift Box starts at $19.99 per month but we will likely increase the price in the future as we plan to add many more features and customization. We are also offering a free 3-day trial, so you can test it and decide whether it fits your needs or not.
How to Use the App
We believe using the Gift Box and setting the offers is pretty straightforward. Anyway, here’s a simple step-by-step guide:
- Go to the Gift Box listing in the Shopify App Store and click on ‘Add app’
- Select the Shopify store where you would like the app to be installed and click on ‘Log in’
- Once the app is successfully installed and added to your store, you should see a confirmation and be on the ‘New Gift’ page
- Select one of our pre-defined gifts or create a custom one
- Fill in the required details like minimum amount to get it or which product
- Congratulations, you have enabled your first free gift. You should now see it on the app dashboard
- To make sure it’s working, go to your store and you should see the Gift Box icon in the bottom-right corner of your store
