Who we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced Frontend/Shopify Engineer who either has previous leadership experience or a strong ambition to lead an engineering team. Our current team consists of five members, and we plan to expand this year. This role will involve a balanced mix of responsibilities, with 50% focused on hands-on development and 50% dedicated to team leadership.

  • Deliver e-commerce projects for local and global D2C brands that serve thousands.
  • Design the delivery process according to your needs.
  • Shape the company's strategy together with General Manager and CTO.
  • Work in the full remote environment on your own schedule.
  • Help us improve, expand, and "productive" our services. We're shifting from custom theme development towards:
    • Building our own theme for the marketplace.
    • Developing complex applications.
    • Integrating ERP and other systems.
    • Providing analytics (tracking) services.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Expert in HTML, CSS, and Responsive design.
  • Knowledge of UX fundamentals.
  • Experience in Shopify tech stack, particularly theme development with Liquid and theme extensions.
  • Strong JavaScript proficiency.
  • Proficiency in GIT.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization.

Leadership skills:

  • Ability to lead and mentor colleagues.
  • Knowledge of engineering best practices.
  • Good communication skills with non-technical stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to conduct technical interviews and team hiring.
  • Project planning and resource allocation.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience with leading an engineering team.

Tech stack

  • Frontend: Liquid, Vanilla JS, HTML, CSS, React
  • Backend: Python, Django, Remix

Our recruitment process

  • Pre-screening - initial video call with our Senior IT Recruiter.
  • Technical call - the first round of hiring with the CTO and General manager.
  • Paid assignment - a real assignment in our code base.
  • Second technical round with some team members.
